Why Articulate?
I chose to do an analyst report for Articulate 360 based on my growing interest in using educational technologies to transform instructor-led training,, to more robust e-learning content. This would include rapid e-learning development for new product releases, and immersive learning through interactive software simulations. Storyline 360 and the content library were the driving factors behind this decision.
While I have prior experience working with Articulate products, I was interested to take this opportunity to explore how this organization operates and compares to similar products on the market, namely Adobe Captivate. Given this prior exposure, I found it challenging to maintain my role as EVA, and not as a buyer and future user of this product. I found the cube analytical framework from week 2 especially helpful for keeping me on track in this regard.

Triggering Prior Learning
This assignment was very interesting for me as it triggered prior learning from my undergraduate degree in commerce from many years ago. Having transitioned adult education and training over the course of my career, I have become more removed from the business operations of my past. I always found case study reports to be the most interesting assignments to work on in school, as I enjoyed the opportunity to critically analyze real-world businesses and the challenges they faced. I always felt that this learning was more meaningful for me than textbook readings as it was easier to draw connections with other organizational challenges. This learning opportunity was an excellent way to immerse myself in case research again.
Planting the Seed
Doing the market analysis around the rise of rapid e-Learning and content creation software has sparked my interest in exploring this field for a possible venture pitch of my own. Between my own experiences in authoring e-learning content and the research for where the industry is growing, I can see that there is an emerging market for specialized e-learning authoring. While there are established ventures such as Articulate and Adobe, this assignment has led me to wonder what tools exist for creating content for niche markets within the global e-learning marketplace. I am looking forward to exploring this area more in the coming weeks, and seeing how the upcoming opportunity forecasts continue to shape these ideas.
